tamra_about Tamra Mercieca founded the company Getting Naked Pty Ltd in order to help people strip back the layers mentally (as opposed to physically!). It was during her research for her second book Getting Naked – The Dating Game that Tamra realised the importance of self love and self belief, and how developing a strong relationship with yourself, helps you create success and happiness in all areas of their life.

Tamra is a relationship and lifestyle coach, having completed a certificate in Life and Business Coaching, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Time-Line Therapy and Therapeutic Hypnosis and is accredited with the relevant boards in America. She is also a UI Powered Mentor.

It was Tamra’s personal battle with depression that led her on a journey of self-discovery and saw her pen her first book The Upside of Down: a journey and toolkit for overcoming depression naturally, which was published at the end of 2009. The book was endorsed by Lifeline Australia, and Tamra now works as an advocate for the organisation helping raise awareness of mental illnesses, having appeared on The Circle on Channel Ten, with regular radio spots around the country.

When she’s not coaching, Tamra’s writing articles for high profile publications such as Body and Soul in the Sunday Telegraph / Sunday Herald Sun and Women’s Health and Fitness magazine. She also has her own Life Coaching column in Nature and Health magazine called ‘Ask Tamra’.

Tamra spent ten years working as a radio newsreader / journalist reading and writing the news for various stations, including Gold FM, Fox FM, Triple M and SBS in Melbourne, Cruise 1323 in Adelaide, FM104.7 and Mix FM in Canberra, Hot FM and 4TO in Townsville and Magic FM and 5RM in Berri.

In 2002 Tamra won an Australian Commercial Radio Award for Best News Presenter in a Provincial market and was a finalist for Best News Presenter in a Metropolitan market in 2005. She began her radio career after completing a Graduate Diploma of Arts in Commercial Radio at Swinburne University. She has also done her fair share of TV acting, appeared in series such as Neighbours, The Secret Life of Us and Last Man Standing.

With a love of all things vintage, Tamra was named Miss Gartbelts and Gasoline 2011 after winning the Festival’s Pin Up competition, since becoming a judge in the inaugural Miss Pin Up Australia comp . In her free time she enjoys playing drums. If she’s not in a go-kart or trackside watching the V8s, you’ll find Tamra enjoying scones and tea in the Dandenongs.
